英語とスペイン語で日本語学習・今日の単語(1) Word of the Day / Palabra de Hoy

魅力的.jpg

「魅力的」「みりょくてき」"miryokuteki"

This word means "attractive" and is an adjective, whose complete
form is "魅力的だ". Actually, there are two types of adjectives
in Japanese, "形容詞(けいようし) keiyoshi" and "形容動詞(けいよう
どうし) keiyodoshi". Their role is the same, but their forms are
different. The former has "い" at the end of the word such as
"はやい" or "うまい", and the latter has "だ" like "しずかだ" or
"こうかてきだ".

Personally I frequently use this word in any language when I praise
someone, of course when I truly need to do so. lol I'm sure you
will offend no one by using this word. Japanese people are really
poor at praising someone and they tend to mention people's
appearances too much to say something good about them, which sounds
really childish and sometimes even offensive to me and to most
Westerners, I guess. Plus, Japanese people are not used to being
praised like "You are attractive", so I highly recommend using this
word to impress people around you. You can use it as your
pick-up line if you like!

As you see, the first kanji looks complicated and difficult. That's
why some unrefined and uneducated people are foreign to this word.
Using this word could make your impression much better!

Now let's learn how to use this word. This time you mention a woman
and praise her in a conversation with someone else. You know this
way is pretty effective, right? The sentence gets longer and longer,
so follow me and hold on, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Esta palabra significa atoractivo o atoractiva y
su forma completa es "魅力的だ(miryokutekida)".
En realidad, el japonés tiene dos tipos de adjetivos,
"形容詞(けいようし) keiyoshi" y "形容動詞(けいよう
どうし) keiyodoshi". Ambos tienen el mismo papel,
pero sus formas son differente. El primero tiene
"い" por la última letra, por ejemplo, "はやい" o
"うまい", y el segundo tiene "だ", como "しずかだ"

accidentado!

Kanojo wa miryokutekida to watashi wa omoi masu.

Ella es atractiva, yo creo.

☆The difference between ③ and ④ is that the subjective is
omitted in ③. Actually Japanese people tend to omit the
subject in a sentence. About ④ and ⑤, they are basically
the same. However, the subject and the main verb "think"
are separated in ④ as you see. This kind of sentence sounds
sort of unorganized, wordy or sometimes even confusing.
Personally I recommend ⑤ in order for you to sound and look
sharper.

Kanojo wa totemo miryokutekida to watashi wa omoi masu.
She is very attractive, I think.

☆You can use "かなり" or "非常に(ひじょうに)" instead of
"とても".
☆ Puede utilizar "か な り" o "非常 に (ひ じ ょ う に)"
en lugar de "と て も".

⑦彼女ほど魅力的な人に、私は出会ったことがありません。
かのじょほどみりょくてきなひとに、わたしはであったことが
ありません。
Kanojo hodo miryokutekina hito ni, watashi wa deatta koto ga
ari masen.
I've never seen anyone who is as attractive as her.
Nunca he visto a nadie tan atractivo como ella.

How was it? I hope you enjoyed it and learned a lot.
Now you are one step, two steps and a lot more steps closer
to the real Japanese world!
¿Cómo les gusta? ¡Ahora están mucho más cerca del
mundo real de japonés! ¡Muchas gracias por sus visitas!
