ことばのいずみ~Fountain of Language

Let's learn some common Japanese phrases they use in summer!
Listen to the audio files and repeat after me. If you practice
again and again, you will improve your pronunciation, intonation,
vocabulary and grammar, I mean, everything about the Japanese
language you need to have. That's right, the best way to learn
Japanese is opening your mouth and speaking out loud! I will
also give a bonus to some casual Japanese lovers!

①暑いですね。あついですね。Atsui desu ne.
It's hot, isn't it?


②毎日暑いですね。まいにちあついですね。Mainichi atsui desu ne.
It's been hot every day, hasn't it?


③日差しが強いですね。ひざしがつよいですね。
Hizashi ga tsuyoi desu ne.
The sun is strong, isn't it?


④暑さで食欲がありませんよ。あつさでしょくよくがありませんよ。
Atsusa de shokuyoku ga ari masen yo.
I have no appetite thanks to the heat.




⑤ゆうべは寝苦しかったですね。ゆうべはねぐるしかったですね。
Yuube wa negurusi katta desu ne.
You couldn't sleep well last night, could you?
It was unpleasant last night, wasn't it?


⑥冷たい物でも飲みましょうか。つめたいものでものみましょうか。
Tsumetai mono demo nomi mashou ka.
How about a cold drink?


⑦冷房の効いた所に行きましょう。れいぼうのきいたところにいきましょう。
Reibou no kiita tokoro ni iki mashou.
Let's go somewhere with air-conditioning.


⑧いい風が入ってきますね。いいかぜがはいってきますね。
Ii kaze ga haitte kimasu ne.
The wind (through the windows) is refreshing, isn't it?
Now it's time for informal Japanese! I don't recommend using
these, though. As I always tell you, these sound unrefined,
uneducated and even rude in some cases.

①ちょーあつくね？

②がちであつくね？

③あつくてやばいっしょ？

Darn hot, huh?

④あつくてなんもやるきしねー。
Darn hot and I don't wanna do anything.


⑤あちーしだりーしうごきたくないわ。
Hot and tired and I don't wanna move.
